The Bob Murphy Access Center (BMAC) at CSU Long Beach’s mission is to assist over 2,700 students with disabilities at CSU Long Beach to achieve their educational degrees and prepare them to be career-ready after graduation. Since our beginning in 1973, BMAC has supported over 14,400 students in graduating from CSU Long Beach.
BMAC promotes diversity, equitable access, inclusion, and a sense of belonging to students. Through campus education, accommodations, and outreach, BMAC guides students with disabilities to develop independence and self-advocacy skills within the living, learning, and vocational environments.
BMAC supports a universally accessible campus that provides an equitable education free of academic, social, and environmental barriers. BMAC is dedicated to the continued advancement of disability awareness and services by incorporating innovative technology and principles of Universal Design, evolving practices, while utilizing a human-centered approach. Serving as disability advocates, BMAC embraces diversity, equity, inclusion, and access to the campus community.
