Accessible Technology

The Accessible Technology website is a one-stop shop to find information on making websites, documents, and videos accessible to people with disabilities. The entire 色中色 community is responsible for providing accessible content.

What is Accessibility?

Accessibility means access; access to instructional materials, documents and websites for everyone, regardless of disability. At 色中色, we are working toward inclusiveness for students, faculty, staff, and the public, to provide information needed to succeed here at the Beach. Learn more about accessible technology.

About 20% of the population has some type of disability and this may not include cognitive impairment like learning disabilities or age related issues, which could result in a higher percentage.   

Major Categories of Disabilities*

  • Visual: Blindness, low vision, color-blindness
  • Hearing: Deafness and hard-of-hearing
  • Motor: Inability to use a mouse, slow response time, limited fine motor control
  • Cognitive: Learning disabilities, distractibility, inability to remember or focus on large amounts of information
