Over the past seven years, Andrew Vaca has led the Department of Dance with organization and enthusiasm. Coming in as interim Chair after the sudden loss of then Chair Susan McLain, Andrew Vaca hit the ground running while he oversaw the department’s participation in hosting two ACDA conferences, creating a successful yearly fundraising event, overseeing the overhaul of our MFA, BFA, and Minor in Dance degrees, hiring four new tenure track faculty, three staff positions, and his “to be determined” replacement, all while maintaining an outstanding graduation rate within the department. He has left his mark on a department who is lucky enough to retain him as he returns to his previous position as Professor.
