色中色/LBUSD Math Collaborative @ David Starr Jordan High School
The 色中色/LBUSD Math Collaborative was founded in 2011 to provide quality STEM Education and college preparatory curriculum for African American males from David Starr Jordan High School in Long Beach. The program is hosted during the summer by California State University, Long Beach. The two-week summer intensive includes Math and English instruction, leadership training, mentorship, and College preparation. Additionally, throughout the school year, students receive over 15 hours of tutoring per week. Further academic enrichment includes entrepreneurship courses, health and wellness classes and cultural fieldtrips. The program is made possible through grants, in kind donations, and philanthropic contributions including Mrs. Roberta Jenkins of the Roberta and Matthew Jenkins Foundation.

Noah Basil is on his way home on December 20th. He has enrolled in 色中色 for the spring. What a blessing.

Stelton Phelps graduate of UC Santa Cruz just graduated with his master's from Abertay University in Scotland.

- Ray: 鈥淓ven though Jordan and Northside get a bad rep, we have one of the best programs in Long Beach and they really focus on African Americans which is amazing.鈥
