Cassandra Reyes

Throughout my experiences in both dance and recreation, my passion for community has always prevailed.  I began working in communities through the art of dance, and was attracted to this discipline for three main reasons: there is always opportunity for development, leadership skills are required, and I could interact and affect individuals.  Discovering recreation through dance, it also contained the three previously mentioned attributes--which lead to my success within the profession.  Today, I am looking toward academia for these same three vital aspects.

In teaching I believe it is my duty to assist students in the success of their educational experience and their overall advancement as individuals, as they move toward career futures.  It is through the sharing of the human experience that we can help students to develop into successful working adults who will carry on the University鈥檚 legacy.  I strive to create an environment where students not only discover Recreation and Leisure, but also develop positive values towards this profession whether they become fellow professionals, users, or supporters and advocates of Recreation and Parks going into the future.
