Participation
All Career Fair events hosted by the Career Development Center (CDC) are solely for employers to recruit student and alumni candidates, and for students and alumni to meet employers to discuss career and internship opportunities. Career Fair events are not intended for employers to solicit business contacts. If an employer is found to be conducting business other than recruiting students and alumni for possible positions, that employer will be asked to leave the event immediately. In addition, that employer forfeits any fees associated with the event and will be subject to denial of future services.
Employers identified as third-party recruiters and/or staffing agencies, as well as companies offering independent contractor positions, may be limited to participation in Career Fair events on a wait-list basis; if space is available after the Career Fair registration deadline is reached, companies representing any of the above categories may be permitted to participate in the event, as determined by the CDC.
Multilevel Marketing Companies, also called Network Marketing Companies, which sponsor an individual to set up his/her own business for the purpose of selling products or services and/or recruiting other individuals to set up their own business, are not eligible to participate in Career Fair events. Online Job Posting Companies, recruiting and/or promoting positions on their platform, are not eligible to participate in Career Fair events.
The Career Development Center reserves the right to deny Career Fair services to employers as deemed necessary.
Payment
The registration and payment deadline for the job fair is about two weeks (14 days) prior to the event. Registration is subject to cancellation if payment is not received during the stated time frame.
Payment may be made by credit card, money order, or check. Payment by credit card is preferred. Checks and money orders should be payable to: 色中色 Career Development Center, and mailed to: 1250 Bellflower, BH 250, Long Beach, CA 90840.
No registrations with payment by check option selected will be accepted within three (3) weeks of the job fair. From that point forward, only registrations with money orders or credit card information provided will be accepted.
Payments will be processed in a timely manner, upon which receipt and confirmation will be emailed.
Attendance
Registration information for all representatives attending the fair must be finalized two weeks (14 days) prior to the fair.
Standard registration permits a maximum of 4 representatives per registration. Tag teams of representatives that trade places during the event are not permitted.
No additional representatives may attend the fair on the day of due capacity regulations and policies. In the event that you have more representatives attend than previously registered, there will be an additional $100 fee that must be paid at the time of the event.
Table Assignments
Table assignments are made taking into account industry designation, payment confirmation, display needs, electrical needs, number of recruiters present, and competition (attempts are made not to place competing employers next to or opposite each other).
Standard registration permits one table per employer. Tables cannot be shared by employers. Table assignments are final.
Extra Tables
On occasion, employers request extra tables. Because of California fire code and facility restrictions, there are only a limited number of spaces for extra tables and the configurations are therefore limited. Requests are processed by sequence received and by payment collected. An extra table is billed at the standard registration fee rate.
Cancellations, Refunds, No-Shows
Refunds will not be issued for cancellations that occur 2 weeks (14 calendar days) or less prior to any Career Fair event. If an employer cancels or no-shows after the payment deadline and has not yet submitted payment, that financial obligation remains due and payable to the Career Development Center upon demand.
During the period greater than 14 days, employers may request a refund of fees paid, minus a $50.00 processing fee. The University Accounts Payable office issues refund checks, not the Career Development Center. Credit card refunds may take up to 10 days to post back to the credit card holder's account and check refunds may take up to 30 days to be dispersed.
No refunds will be given for "no-shows" to Career Fair events. Fees paid are forfeited and outstanding fees remain due.
No refunds are given to any employer that has violated a Career Fair policy and is denied services. Fees paid are forfeited and outstanding fees remain due.
Third Party Recruiters who choose to post positions on CareerLINK Jobs must:
- Identify as a third party agency or recruiter in the position description.
- Third party recruiters are employment agencies, search firms, contract recruiters, organizations, or individuals recruiting candidates for temporary, part-time or full-time employment opportunities other than for their own needs.
