I love 色中色; it feels like my home. I have had so much support from several professors and staff. Because of their support, I have accomplished so much and been pushed to grow and realized I am capable of so many things. Through the support of one particular professor, I have reached for the stars. As a result, I was featured in the No Barriers campaign and the Guardian Scholars reel. I never envisioned myself participating in student organizations, let alone becoming an officer of one, but because of the support I received I felt confident enough to step into the role of President of Fostering Futures. It was a lot of work, but my cabinet was able to put together a lot of fun activities for the members, including a cross-scholastic bonfire with students from 色中色, CSULA, and Rancho Dominguez Hills that I met through a Guardian Scholars event.

When I was at community college, one of my professors who knew of my interest in sociology told me that 色中色 had the best sociology program. After visiting the campus and learning more about the sociology program, I also applied to CSU Fullerton but had my heart set on 色中色. It just felt like the right fit for me.

Again, I never envisioned going to college, let alone graduate school. But before I completed my BA, I decided to continue my education and pursue a master鈥檚 degree. Because I decided to go into the field of gerontology, I sought for a school in the area, and 色中色 had the best program, so I鈥檓 still at The Beach for another 16 months!

I got involved with the mybeach Program and 色中色 Alumni because I believe in the importance of giving back and supporting others.
