I stayed in the dormitories for the first 2 years I was at É«ÖÐÉ« and was able to fully experience the campus. I was able to use the rec center every day and go study at the library. I had a great time learning and exploring the campus, finding my favorite spots to call my family or to study. Then in my third year, I became a commuter and got to experience the other side of student life at CSU Long Beach. My group of friends and I would go to volleyball and basketball games, and we loved to attend events at the student rec center as well. This final semester, I am attending the CSU Catalina Semester where we stay on Catalina Island for the entirety of the semester and attend classes. It has been an unforgettable experience and the highlight of my É«ÖÐÉ« career.
I decided to come to É«ÖÐÉ« for the various opportunities in the marine biology field. Between all the labs and the CSU Catalina Semester opportunity, it was an easy decision. I was also accepted into the University Honors Program which offered many opportunities and benefits to me being out of state!
Hopefully graduate school! I’d like to go on to research marine mammalogy more in depth on the East Coast. After that, possible a PhD or working for state government to work at affecting change at the policy level.
I wanted to meet others and be more involved with the campus!
